This is pure pseudoscience nonsense. The body doesn't just blindly take hormone precursors and manufacture them into hormones willy-nilly as you eat them with no regard for any kind of balance or control. Your body has systems for hormone regulation.

Thinking you can just ingest precursor chemicals (once again, not human estrogen but precursors) and your body will become feminine makes about as much sense as thinking drinking a lot of milk will make you cum more because it looks kind of similar. Or thinking that it will make you grow extra teeth like a shark because it has calcium. No, obviously not.

I swear almost all food awareness and activism and diet stuff is totally insane and made up.

Don't know if this counts but there is a show in Mexico called La Rosa de Guadalupe, it generally touches on problems/issues that are relevant at the time. So circa 2007 they did an episode on weebs (pic related), the episode hasn't been subtitled in english but just by the image you know it's bad

It's an established fact that the botnet wants us to starve, and with even pizza being non-free it's hard for a cyberpunk to sustain his/herself in the meatspace. You can't survive on stims alone, and traditional food is just a waste of time.

So how do cyberpunks get their calories?

> Buying food for multiple people is cheaper.
What are you buying?
Fresh vegetables usually cost per pound, so it doesn't matter how much you get.
Most other things (grains, legumes, frozen food, spices, etc.) last a long time and so you can buy in bulk.
What else do you eat? i can only think of meat and bread as exceptions right now.

>>2578
Just buy the bulk items.
It might be annoying in the short term, but then you save on trips later.
You can get a cart like pic related to make it easy.
Also, if you have some food at home already, you can afford to wait on buying an item until it goes on sale.

> Just buy the bulk items.
Yeah I really hate these easy answers. It's not that simple. I don't buy packaged or canned food unless I have to. You have to understand that things are different n other countries or even parts of the same country. I've lived with 12 people, six people, and alone. It gets harder and more expensive the less people there are and your diet becomes less diverse.

>You can get a cart like pic related to make it easy.

Yeah sounds great for when there's six inches of snow, not to mention the hills around here.

> if you have some food at home already

Not always, no… I have in fact gone hungry several times in the past few years without enough money to even buy a loaf of bread. I make all my own meals from scratch and never eat out with very rare exception. (Next question before you ask: no I don't pay for internet).

Soylent is ridiculous. So expensive. And not even slightly innovative. We've had meal replacement shakes available for decades, like ensure or slimfast. Those are just the most common ones you can get at walgreens or whatever—there's much more developed bougie versions out there. But soylent is the most bougie. It's a luxury bay area meme version of a diet shake.

IRC is a protocol, not a program. You can use any client you like, slick and "modern" ones too if that's your thing.

I know the concept of protocols is hard to grasp for zoomers who grew up with walled garden programs and apps.

I'm intrested in knowing which are most poppular, and… who knows, maybe discover new hiden gems.

I'm not going to post my favourites in the OP to avoid conditioning the answers.

The Silver Case / The 25th Ward
Insanely stylish games. The first chapter is full on psychological horror, the rest is like Serial Experiments Lain: The Game mixed with Film Noir storytelling. 25th Ward is like Texhnolyze mixed with Film Noir storytelling. Both are very abstract and interesting, but because so few people have actually played them, it's hard to find good discussion. The writer (Suda51_ went on to make the more famous killer7 and No More Heroes games.
Aesthetically speaking, they might be the absolute peak of visual novels, maybe even interactive media as a whole:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cfF5JwnnTM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PSxkcw_Vr0
(also, there's a game called "Flower, Sun, and Rain" that came out between them that you should play before 25th Ward if you are interested)

What video games are my fellow Alicesotians playing now? I'm currently on this game called Chaser(https://www.gog.com/game/chaser). It's a decent FPS, but the voice acting is subpar. There are a lot of weapons in the game and with some guns you get an alternative firing mode(such as having a nade launcher on the FAMAS). Level design is okay, not the best, but it's nothing I can complain about. The story line I just have no clue what is going on at this current moment because I'm a quarter of the way in, but it starts off with you discovering you've lost your memories when you wake up on a space station and it's being attacked. The thing you will notice when you start playing is that this is a sci-fi video game that uses real life modern weapons.

If you're a fan of late 90s/early 00s FPS games I could recommend this if you get this cheap(and need something to hold you over till you play/get a better game). Keep in mind that I'm currently still playing the game and have not reach the ending yet. According to howlongtobeat(https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=1656) this game is averaging at around 15-18 hours.

How does everyone here manage to play games without getting bored? I often binge on one game for around a week before dropping it and do nothing for the next month. I hate not being able to get into games, and I'd rather do something rather than nothing. I want to start a bobs and angels playthrough of Factorio but I'm afraid I'll drop it less than halfway through.

I first learned how to play xiangqi (Chinese chess) and didn't learn "mainstream" chess until a couple years later. Once you learn the rules of one type of chess, learning another version of chess isn't hard—but getting good at it is very difficult, since playing strategies vary across the different versions. I'm still a piece of literal soykaf when it comes to playing, since I rarely ever play. (I do wish to start playing more often, though.)

I played shogi for a few years but i still suck at it. I think it's a brilliant game, i enjoy it very much. If i remember correctly, it is the only type of chess in which still a human is the champion, not an AI.

 No.2777

I play a lot of Chess and I've been wanting to get into Go, but it's hard to do so when you only speak English. I see them as interlocking in what they do, it's two different ways of thinking about similar problems of strategy and geometry.

>peasants didn't fight at all
this is also inaccurate.

Not only were peasants often levied as foot soldiers, peasants sometimes formed their own armies and overthrew kings they didn't like.

Interestingly, they usually didn't bother setting up a new political system, they just got rid of whatever jackass was in charge and sometimes put up their own peasant king.

I'm a big fan of the Pratchett-Vimes Ruleset. The pawns on both sides of the board band together, talk the rooks around to their side, and overthrow their aristocratic overlords. The board becomes a republic in about a dozen moves.
