IRCs look old and boring. I want the interface to look smooth and nice to use. And no, I won't be using Discord for the chat, how else would that be any better/different from simply creating a server?

IRC is a protocol, not a program. You can use any client you like, slick and "modern" ones too if that's your thing.

I know the concept of protocols is hard to grasp for zoomers who grew up with walled garden programs and apps.
