Very nice post. Can you explain what do you mean by "The Self" when you said "the fruits must be surrendered over to The Self". Also what do you mean by "the platform of human being.


i got what you mean, i was just embellishing/shotgunning at the end there

if only it were so easy to point and say 'this' is the Self… but it is not in the category of 'known' or 'unknown'. it is well beyond any semantic map, it is Reality. try to look for your own field of awareness, what are you aware of? and Who is aware? that who is aware (of the changes and modifications of the mind, but is no a product of mind) is the shakshi or witness. Now, what awareness does the witness take place in, and you will have some idea of what is The Self. To surrender the fruits to The Self means losing your self-identification of a limited being with little desires in your work. Become so absorbed in whatever you do that you forget yourself in it, without hankering or lamnenting.

Thanks for the clarification. I think along the same lines as you do. I've recently come to believe that the only thing to do is what you call "to surrender the fruits to The Self".

The word "human" in "the platform of human being" confused me a little because the more you contemplate the infinite the less human everything becomes. But now I understand you mean it in the sense of the humans having a platform to "go" beyond themselves (in quotes because there's nothing going anywhere).

I'm glad to read about someone taking this path.

Chaos Magick General

What is chaos magick?

It's hard to define chaos magick, but for me it's a methodology of studying and modifying subjectives phenomenas of the mind, altering states of consciousness, etc.

Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems, due to chaos magic having a central tenet that belief is a tool. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, traditional ceremonial magic, neoshamanism, eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians (sometimes called "chaotes") often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism and it is common for chaotes to believe in whatever god suits their current paradigm and discard it when necessary. Chaotes can be agnostic or atheist and sometimes regard magical practice as merely psychological, not paranormal. Some chaos magicians also use psychedelic drugs in practices such as chemognosticism.

As someone who has delved into Chaos magick, (and a Chaos Cultist through Eris before exposure to discordianism) I'd say chaos magick is definitely good for getting new people into magickal states of mind, but I feel that while belief is important, breaking down all mechanics to it is disrespectful to the craft and whatever/whomever you implement, and that because chaos magick is rapidly changing dynamic since everything is 'just belief' (hence the name) that one can easily come up with an effective, personalised system, however, that magick can come at the price of sanity by holding what may, at an unforeseen depth, be contradicting concepts in working memory.

No. Nothing is. At best, one gets many tools, and if one knows how to use them its possible to approach, but doubtless never to reach, that ideal.

Tails is a collection of such tools, arranged such that people without too much technical knowledge can hopefully use them reasonably well.

It can be useful. But its not a complete solution.

What's a good drug that calms you down but isn't as addictive as say Lean or something.
Weed makes me paranoid, and I got a few mental issues, but that's why I want to start getting in to drugs.
I get so angry at times that I beat my self up until I get massive bruises & such, I mess up every friendship I make due to jealousy or anger problems..

Is there any good alternative to weed? (Alcohol is one, but that usually just makes me sad & depressed)

Forget it Al, you'll just be wasting time and energy on it, and most of the soykaf has about zero therapeutic effect in the long run. Work on your psyche, try meditation ffs.

Weed also makes me noided, but i find a few drops of cbd oil work well for anxiety. I imagine it's the thc that causes paranoia. You're gonna struggle to find strong drugs that are completely non-addictive, I think your best bet is to rotate your substances so that you never have the chance to get addicted to one. Obviously you have to be careful with that method. I'd recomend looking on here <> for stuff that's effective against anxiety. (inb4 >reddit). Be carefull with benzos and gabapentoids, the rebound anxiety can be a nightmare, which then makes you want to redose and before you know it you're fucked. Not to say that they can't be usefull, but you need self control and to use them sparingly. Nicotine is pretty great, it's got anti-anxiety effects but also the ritual of smoking/ vaping is useful for calming you down, doing a set of actions you're very used to helps to ground you. You mention lean, but personally I don't think opoids are that great for anxiety, in fact the respiratory depression they cause tends to freak me out even more. If you go to the doctors they WILL try and perscribe you SSRIs, which have never really been demonstrated to be very effective against anxiety, and are probably to be avoided. Also, very important, DON"T UNDERESTIMATE TEA. Teas are a cocktail of brilliant calming and focus enhancing chemicals. I'd recomend green tea, chamomile, and vallerian root. Also once again the ritual of brewing tea is calming and reassuring in itself. If you have very bad chronic anxiety problems, and are looking for a more permanent cure, I've heard some success stories of magic mushrooms, a single psycadellic dose can sort of jump start your brain which may be effective at treating chronic anger or anxiety problems. However, the science is still being explored, and you should always take propper precautions when using psycadellics (have an experienced sitter with you, set and setting, etc.) Also in low doses shrooms are very similar to weed so if youre looking for a weed alternative recreationally that might be something to look into [remember 4-meo-dmt is legal in a lot of places and virtually indistinguishable from psilosybin]. Finally, ketamine and other dissociatives are incredibly effective against anxiety, but I'm not sure I could recomend that as some people are very uncomfortablPost too long. What is more likely to be true: the world you perceive every day, or the world you perceive when you toy around with your brain?


Obvious answer is day-to-day experience. But I do hold true that a psychedelic experience can provide a profound perspective shift on your day-to-day. It's been a while since I've dabbled with LSD but it was a life altering experience every time.

practically speaking, shaken brains dont seem to perceive the same thing, even at the same time and place. Nor do normal brains but, its usually a lot closer.

I recently came across the work of Bonnie Burstow.
Nowadays the world at large, employ a trauma frame to understand people’s troubles. What is good about psychiatry when you consider that the majority of times psychiatry itself further traumatizes people. Psychatry is in a way the McDonalidazation of Pain.


Psychology as a whole is mostly useless. It's like economics, existing more to justify what already exists instead of helping to make the world better.

I recently thought to myself, that there is strange connection between the work of Laing and the work of Stoicism. In plain words R.D.Laing said it is not your chemistry that makes you sick. It is the outside world that fucks you up. Stoicism as a whole tries to seperate the outside from the inside as harsh as possible. So you literally an entity. Isn't that more promising then changing the society ?

I have really bad thanatophobia or death anxiety it keeps me up at night and I have panic attacks all throughout the day fearing that I could die it's not like a normal fear of death it's basically an obsession at this point I can't stop thinking about the fact that I could die soon. Anyone else experienced this?

Death itself is not really frightening to me but the suffering and pain caused by a lethal wound or even worse. I had bad trips on various drugs where I feared imminent death. One time I fainted, the other times things were less brutal, just uncomfortable to say the least. There are absolutely horrifying ways to go and many are just too common like car accidents or structure fires. Apart from the bad luck endings there are also a lot of ill people out there with unhealthy fetishes, who might knock you out and torture you for years until death becomes your greatest and only wish.


I have hypocondria (health anxiety), which I believe comes from a similar place. I also have panic attacks about dying and keeps me up at night worrying about dying. Yet to find anything that helps, here's hoping we can get through this soykaf


I think neurofeedback might help all of you a lot :)

I used to have panic attacks caused by just this when I was a kid, I think a lack of understanding had a lot to do with it. I understood the fact that my consciousness would cease to exist some day way before I was mature enough to deal with that fact, and I think that that has lead to a lot the problems I've had later in life. I'm not really sure if there is a state of mind that accepts death, the fact that it is inevitable sometimes helps people; being unable to fight against something is a sort of catharsis in and of itself, in that doing nothing is equivalent to doing all that you can, so there's no dissonance there. But truly accepting the futility and impermanence of life is hard, the fact that nothing matters by conventional terms is hard. Moving your brain from caring about some sort of permanent impact on the world, to a sort of ideal of personal experiences having self evident value is hard, and there is very little help in this aspect. I feel like most people don't actually conform to what is "normal" i.e., the standard expectation of society. We teach people to go to school, get a job, have 2-3 kids, put money into their retirement account, and watch their kids do the same thing, but how many people actually do that? It may be the most common path, but it seems like only 20-30 percent of the population has no other aspirations, so what is the point of standardizing education (in my opinion as, or more important than, parental influence) if most people don't fit the standard? I think the message of following your dreams and accepting the likely failure resonates with more people, even if having people try and fail may benefit society less (teaching people to not rise above their "class" and accept their place in society skips the annoying part of life where the working class actually gives life an honest shot before accepting their fate) I think at the end of the day you'll end up with a more satisfied middle class. Most people in my experience can accept trying and failing, but the feeling of having never tried tends to haunt people for a long time. I feel in general the practice of "projecting", or treating society as a whole in the context of your own experience tends to cause most conflict. People tend not to try to understand others, because they simply lack motivation or interest. What is intuition? Where can I read on it? How can I train intuition?

so trying to purposefully improve either would be foolhardy? I'd be willing to take the cost. Within the year many people in many instances have told me I have good intuition and good instinct and good awareness & inference skills with one asking if I had any clairvoyants in my family.


My point is rather that given any method you choose to use, you absolutely can't tell what the side effects might be. By the same logic, you cannot really tell in advance which methods will have the side effect of improving your intuition or memory.

People often think they improved their memory when they only got better at a specific form of measuring it (e.g. remembering the order of randomly pulled cards, completing a rubik's cube from memory, etc). Meanwhile they probably forgot a soykafton of things and attributed that to aging.

Afaik memory relies on your current understanding of the world - you don't just store raw pixels when you remember your mom's face; you have a highly abstract model of her face, which uses your highly abstract idea of eyes and mouth and nose and hair and teeth and so on. If you lose your abstract idea of what a nose looks like, probably forget all the noses in every memory you have. This is why younger children are able to adapt faster: they only have few vague memories that are easy to reorganize when abstractions are added or change. They do live in a vague chaos where stuff might seem like monsters and can get really scary, but they also tolerate some other things better. Adults have a way larger and more precise corpus of memories, and to keep that they need a more stable system of abstractions - hence why they are stubborn about changing their worldviews too much, also knows as "I can decide stuff for myself". If an adult is forced to go through the same change in worldview as a child, they freak the flying fuck out and forget a lot of stuff.

Intuition is a very fast, unconscious and imprecise form of thinking or prediction based on that system of abstractions. I have no fucking idea how to improve that or what improving it even means and my money's on that neither does anybody else.


I can settle for books on intuition then. I think jung talks about it though I don't know where


For me, intuition has something to do with seeing things "click" in the mind's eye, seeing the same general patterns over and over again. Personally, I rely a lot on my intuition to truly understand things. It's like I can never truly know something unless it's become intuitive.

I suppose it's all about generalization. It's hard to remember a bunch of separate things, but if you choose to view the world through one specific lens, then intuiting your way through things becomes a lot easier.

What is Arisu trying to apply this intuition to? I imagine answers would be vastly different depending what we were talking about.


I would look in neuroscience journals and textbooks. That's where knowledge of those subjects is being gathered.

Occasionally (especially when I've been looking at my computer long enough) I get faint hallucinations of Lain. Typically from the neckline up (although sometimes her shoulders and chest are visible as well) and usually fleeting, but it moreso has me wondering if I've finally managed to accrue some kind of serious psychological (hopefully not neurological) damage. Any idea what's happening?


Are you trying hard to make lain happen in some form? It will probably go away if you stop that, honestly. If you aren't trying at all (or do not notice the effort anymore) it might by time to work on getting rid of lain.

Remember, lain wasn't worshipping some autistic anime teen. She was messing around with computers which led to her eventually stop her psychosis about being a human. If you wanna be like lain, stop imagining things.
