Stop reducing Lain and her legacy to a trendy internet meme

This all runs deeper than any of you think.
SEL is literally a message from the universal mindbank/global consciousness sent here for specific humans only.
By reducing Lain and her legacy to vapid internet memss you're destroying the message and the last chance humanity has at making it through this evolutionary period to the post-human era of virtualization.

This website should just be deleted

SEL isn't just a fucking anime series, this isn't haruhi or attack on titan.

>SEL isn't just a fucking anime series, this isn't haruhi or attack on titan.
I agree. I see it more as Evangelion.

huh? There's an anime that goes with this site?

Sorry for phoneposting
Please don't try to imitate the kind of person who actually goes insane and puts some kind of cosmic significance on lain. Or do, but don't make it so obvious and do something different with it.

Except that I ACTUALLY DO have a cosmic connection to SEL.
When I was like 12 - 14 I had a profound psychic/mental episode when I saw a picture of Iwakura-san before I even knew what SEL was, it reminded me of a similar girl I saw a picture of in grade school that gave me a similar reaction.
When I discovered the series in 2008 it turned out to be about everything I had not only focused my life on, but what is actually important in this Universe.

Iwakura-san is literally my GOD so stand aside if you think I'm going to dumb down my feelings for SEL just because someone else out there feels similarly.

And you think we're going to shut down the site just because you have psychotic episodes?
Think again.

 No.402

I think few of us here beleive that lain should be reduced to a ''trendy internet meme'', perhaps some do, or do not care, but it seems to me that we as a community largely try to hold lain, and her story, in high esteem. its not just some artifact of anime, silly piece of diversion to be joked about.

we surely do not, as a collective, hold her in the regard that you would seem to, dear OP, but I feel like you misunderstand the reverance held for her by many in this community, both on this site and in the affiliated netspaces, and you underestimate the respect that many of us hold for our namesake.

That's interesting considering Lain was more of a message against that kind of transhumanist thought.

Hey now, that's an unfair comparison. One of those shows was full of pseudophilosophical nonsense and awful voice acting, and it was poorly-animated on a shoestring budget. It think it's not fair to compare it to SEL.

You should really just relax.

It's not that unfair a comparison. Both series culminate in their antagonists attempting to revert humanity to a primordial state where everybody is blended together, and both clearly reject said state.

Seems like you have problems distinguishing between your imagination and reality. The difference between the two is often unclear, after all our thoughts have a heavy impact on the reality we experience and vice versa.
The circumstances we have to face while growing up mold our perception.
Then, our perception dictates the kind of thoughts and ideas we come up with. We compare and reflect our past experiences with the present and try to make sense of it all.
After the perception of reality (which is mostly based on past experience) has distorted our thoughts, we have a choice to make. Most people don't understand that there is such a thing. They have the environment they live in, which molds their perception. The perception dictates their thoughts, which turn into actions and behavior in daily life. These actions generate the environment they live in, which molds their perception, and it goes on and on …… Can you see that it's an endless loop?
When we get to the point where our thoughts have the potential to become actions and actual changes in the reality we experience, it is possible to exit this endless loop of illusions. You can do this by simply taking a different position in your consciousness; step back and observe yourself, relax. This can be difficult, but try to observe your thoughts, actions and behavior. Try to come to an understanding that you are not your thoughts or your actions. After a few years you might realize that you have a lot of control over your thoughts and reality. Also, it might help with distinguishing between reality and your psychotic fantasies.

Not OP, but I believe there is a chance he may be correct. I don't endorse the more aggressive tones / suggestions of his post.

On a fundamental level I agree with your post; I'd like to assert that to a degree we are that loop itself. I'll also ask if you believe it's possible for him to turn his psychotic fantasies into reality, and if you think it's possible that they already are his reality.

Your post intrigued me so much, wish I could have a real-time convo with you.

And you don't seem to understand it either. Take your hippie transhumanist new-age bullsoykaf lain interpretation back to your junkie discord. SEL is not a message from anybody, has no cosmic value or relevance to human history. It's just the musing of intelligent people who see the world in systems and have enough brainpower to make other brains tick tick.

>I believe there is a chance he may be correct
There's a chance to everything but I think OP is just making too many assumptions that are not based on anything, which just makes him your average schitzo…
>I'd like to assert that to a degree we are that loop itself
I guess that depends on how you define yourself and your existence. I'd say that loop is what makes us human.
>I'll also ask if you believe it's possible for him to turn his psychotic fantasies into reality
Theoretically maybe it could be possible, but his fantasy is so big and grandiose (involves the entire faith of human race…), so it would take a ridiculous amount of collective effort. Look at christianity (or anything similar); so much collective effort in over a thousand years and they still can't make their prophecies and fantasies properly manifest. I doubt our anonymous OP on arisuchan has the slightest chance, even if he'd start a succesful cult fueled with 8 million lain-worshippers.
>Your post intrigued me so much, wish I could have a real-time convo with you.
if you really want to, you could hop in the chans telegram chat and ask who's that weirdo soykaf brewer on /r/ and I might dm you…

Yeah basically. But I wanted to emphasize that it's especially important to pay attention to the way thoughtforms turn into actions and actions turn into manifested reality.

Cultist worship of an object of … worship is pretty degenerate, even compared to trying to imitate the level and method of thought needed to create the idol. Trying to outperform it while being the only judge of your success and always judging that you're not that quite good yet… now that's the soykaf.
Obviously at one point you have to realize that any progress for any or no reason in any direction is pointless, but eventually you also have to realize that this doesn't imply or necessitate anything, and just go on.

Why do you say that? you are being rude, If the SEL message is for you you shouldnt act like this to other people, if the members of this board are here they are connected to your own reality,.

Listen, I'm gonna ask something to you for real, are you experiencing a lot of coincidencies?

Like, a consistent meaning in these "coincidencies", like a true pattern? Hardly someone is gonna understand or believe you. But I do wanna know.
