Some amount of anons had asked me what my status is in relation to this chan. I've been working indirectly with Seph in the background to help jp stay cool. This coming Wednesday I'll have a MacBook Air and the money to start working as an Admin for real.

How much of this new Lainchan's budget will be allocated to Apple computers?

You can't be serious? The mods would never use money to run the site for personal use, like buying a computer, right?

The mods can't misuse your money if they don't have your money. I don't see a donate button anywhere.

Add an onion server.

weren't you the guy who deleted .org?

 No.618

I'd prefer if you're not a singular admin. At least share the position. This way the point(s) of failure(s) are dispersed. This is only positive. Seph seems cool as well right? I don't know of any others.

After all lainchan.jp is supposed to re-do, do-right, correct? One of the points of that was a more "decentralized" structure. This goes hand-in-hand with that.

Love 'em or hate 'em, Kalyx is the reason we are all here in the first place. I would hope you give him a chance. Don't worry. We have redundant offsite backups. ^_~

Kalyx isn't anything even remotely close to being a singular administrator. Evidence of this is the fact that up until just now—due to personal issues beyond his control—he hasn't even been involved with the administration of the website itself. As he already said he has been "working indirectly with Seph in the background."

On the contrary the distribution of responsibility for the administration, moderation, and development of lainchan as well as the management of related services is one of the primary reasons this website was created in the first place. We have at least four times the staff at applechan.

Please see >>3 and the FAQ for more information.

Also we do plan on doing things right. I would hope we already are. If you have feedback or criticism, please let us know in the other /q/ threads. Thank you.

Why did you delete all of our site's content? This seems to mean you hold a very antagonistic attitude to our community. Is it just a coincidence .jp was created and the coup attempted because the opportunity arose independently, or was it coordinated? At least then there would be a logical reason for doing something so malicious.

I don't know where this meme comes from. Kalyx did not hack the website. This was not some elaborate plan. This is what actually happened:

Appleman1234 never changed the email address or password on the control panel for the VPS on which lainchan.org is hosted. He should have done so immediately after purchasing the site. When he needed to log in to the control panel (after seven months of not having done so once), but couldn't, he requested a password reset, which was sent to Kalyx as it was his email that was still listed on the account. If Appleman1234 had changed the email and password as he should have, the server would have never been reset. If Appleman1234 had taken backups as he should have, the website would have been restored immediately. I guess no one knows this because Appleman1234 is embarrassed to admit his gross incompetence.

Disappointed with the decline of the website following the sale to Appleman1234, which he now considers a mistake, Kalyx used the password reset email as an opportunity to log in and reset the server. It was a protest of what lainchan.org had become since the sale of the website. Nothing more. Nothing less. Perhaps he wouldn't have done so had he known that Appleman1234 was so incompetent as to not have backups. So despite what you say, Kalyx is not exclusively responsible for the loss of content on lainchan.org. By comparison if our server were reset, the website would be back to normal in less than an hour. Barely anyone would even notice.

To suggest that the reset of the server was related to the creation of this website is to suggest that we knew ahead of time that Appleman1234 didn't change the password or email on the hosting account, that he didn't take backups, and that he would send out a password reset request to Kalyx's email account. Even if this were somehow magically possible, why would we only begin working on this website weeks after the reset had already taken place? After some of our staff made a genuine effort to help lainchan.org recover after the reset?

In a way we take it as a complement that people are convinced that the two events must somehow be related. I guess they can't believe how so little could change in the seven months following Appleman1234's purchase of the site, how little progress there was after the reset of the server, and yet we could somehow create and launch this entire website in about a day. If anything that is a testament to the amount of bureaucracy at lainchan.org.

tl;dr: If we knew ahead of time that Kalyx could reset the server and wanted to nefariously use this to our advantage, we would have made this website before, not weeks after the reset. If Appleman1234 had changed the password and email, all of us would still be on lainchan.org. Think about it. This is not some elaborate conspiracy. This website is a legitimate response to legitimate problems with lainchan.org.

You are blaming Apple because kalyx deleted alla the content.
Kek that is funny

>Appleman1234 never changed the email address or password on the control panel for the VPS on which applechan is hosted.
It is said that Kalyx "forgot" them when selling it.
>Disappointed with his perceived decline of the website following the sale to Appleman1234, which he now considers a mistake
Interesting, I assume getting money for it and spending them wasn't a mistake.

Did Kalyx:

a) offer to buy the site back?
b) destroy the site while keeping the dirty money?

>If we knew ahead of time that Kalyx could reset the server and wanted to nefariously use this to our advantage, we would have made this website before, not weeks after the reset.

You know that this would make you look even more like opportunistic fucks that you are.

You are just shifting responsibility from culprit to victim, which is hilarious considering how self-righteous and better you are claiming to be. You also know that people aren't only mad because kalyx did a wipe, but that you bunch were Judases in this situation. But I assume that it was Appleman's fault for keeping the previous staff , he should have known that you would sell him out for 30 pieces of silver and claiming for a few days that you didn't even do it.

I just hope that kalyx has access to server again, so he can sell you next time somebody offers him to pay his bills for a week.

you're asking the wrong questions. You know kalyx couldn't afford to buy back the site, you even mentioned in your post that he spent all the money.

You're asking those questions because you know that, but you don't care. You literally do not care about someone else's financial situation or the fact they may be dying so much as your precious selloutchan doesn't have a competitor. fuck off.

just like kalyx never gave a fuck about .org to begin with, nor any of the perpetrators of what happened with .org

if kalyx cared about .org he never would have sold it. The fact he still feels entitles to the site name and "community" after selling his rights to it says alot about him.
