what does Alice do when they feel more sad than normal?
i haven't really had the best day today, hope it's the opposite for Alice.

i drink till i start feeling drowsy and then i just sleep it out. i wake up refreshed and then i just go on normally with my life

 No.1457

escapism is usually what I resort to when i've had a particularly bad day. i like to drown myself in anime and pokemon games. if i really want to cheer myself up though, i usually find someone else and try to cheer them up.

 No.1458

I usually listen to sad music and then sleep it out. It's probably not the best method, though.

Good to know im not alone.. i will play pokemon even when im 80 if it helps me to cope with life. Sometimes i succumb to the sadness though. There is something depressing about the inevitable that lingers… but after a while you learn to live with it, right?

hey alice, we're on the same boat. i'm not sure whats making you sad but feel free to vent it out… meanwhile, i can recommend you this album that helps me through the saddest of sad times:

its a pretty sad album, but hey let it hug you so that you wont be sad alone!

First go for a run on the treadmill.
Then I'll work on something that I find interesting/fun and has low pressure for being successful.
After I'll take a few bong rips and fall asleep listening to music.
When I wake up theres a high chance of me feeling good enough to continue my life in a functional manner.
I'd say it's effective maybe 70% of the time.

I walk and listen to music. It takes me to like a walking daydream if that makes sense. Its one of my only escapes

That works surprisingly well for me. I've learned that I can usually tell when it is something that will pass, thinking to myself, "I know I'll feel better in the morning."

Or just walk.

Just start out without a particular destination in mind and clear your head.

in case you did not know already, what you are doing is probably related to maladaptive daydreaming. I too have been doing that since i was very young and only recently found the word for it.

It depends, if I feel bad around daytime I try to work out a little, it helps me. If it's evening/night I'm drinking and I know that I will have a few hours of positive thoughts before getting some sleep

I listen to some jazzy music and dance but if I'm too sad I can't. Sometimes I ride my bike as fast as I can (not on the road but areas that are only open to bikes and pedestrians)
I will try to programm some "art" in Love2D, play around with GIMP or even LMMS.
Recently I started writing poems when I feel this way.

Hopefully things are brighter for you these days, Alice.

Often times I just try my best not to think about it. Focus on escapism, such as investing myself into a game to keep my mind occupied, or maybe take some time to prepare a meal , even if I'm not hungry. As long as I'm left idle to think about how empty my life is.

 No.1632

Drink faster.
