LAINCHAN IS AN AMERICAN RESEARCH PROJECT ON DISSIDENT/FRINGE BEHAVIOR. CEASE ALL ACTIVITY

The project name for Lainchan is WOUNDEDBIRD. All communication is fed into analytics software that assists in profiling and threat assessment operations.

WOUNDEDBIRD was behind the Tsuki Project's Image Submission scheme, as a way of tracking users.

WOUNDEDBIRD built a dossier on EVERY LAINCHAN USER via crashoverride.ml which housed IMAGES AND LOCATIONS OF USERS

WOUNDEDBIRD collected persona data from users via agents within IRC.

Data is sent off via archive.zip files, which contain all of the posts in a given snapshot. applechan has removed theirs, but Arisuchan.jp still has theirs at Arisuchan.jp/archive.zip

WHEN YOU POST ON LAINCHAN, YOU HONE WOUNDEDBIRD'S ABILITY TO TARGET DISSIDENTS. YOU ARE DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTING TO AUTOMATED PROFILING

LAIN IS A LIE. STOP AIDING THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT IN PROFILING DISSIDENTS

These are pretty grave accusation you're throwing at arisuchan, yet the website as a philosophy of freedom of speech.

Do you have anymore proof of what you are accusing the site of? If what you says is true you must have some documents on this Woundbird project how about you post picture of them?

I recommend to everyone to not download the archive.zip that he as link if you do, do it in a VM. it's a 564 MB archive, that's look rediculously huge for texts files.

Good dude, I remembered him but totally forgot his name. I hope he is doing well. Sorry for metaing

Everything you're talking about could be done without the government actually running the site. If you're worried about this sort of information collection your only option is to not post on public forums and hope that there are no agents collecting data about you from within your secret club.

>Image Submission scheme, as a way of tracking users.

The images uploaded were visible to everyone.

>WOUNDEDBIRD collected persona data from users via agents within IRC

Does not mean that they run lainchan or anything else. You should be aware that agents try to infiltrate communities to data mine people and act accordingly.

>which contain all of the posts in a given snapshot

This is a public image board they can just scrape the posts from the site.

>WHEN YOU POST ON LAINCHAN, YOU HONE WOUNDEDBIRD'S ABILITY TO TARGET DISSIDENTS. YOU ARE DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTING TO AUTOMATED PROFILING

This is actually true, but what alternative is there ? The only way to not get your posts put into a profiling system is never post anything publicly.

>LAIN IS A LIE. STOP AIDING THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT IN PROFILING DISSIDENTS

So stop the government from profiling dissidents by not being a dissident ? While many users here might fall into the category of "dissident" this is not an explicitly political site. The only way to avoid the things you're talking about is to operate a secret club with a cell based structure and a vetting process. Doing that sort of thing justifies agents to be actively involved in compromising members rather than just passively putting everything they say into a database. It's a huge can of worms you're opening by going underground and it makes me wonder if you are not and agent yourself. By steering us toward clandestine channels of communication you create a justification for more agency involvement/funding and are more easily able to classify us as a threat.

Yes, Kalyx is in the CIA and Seph is in the NSA. We all know this. Seph's address on IRC even gives it away:

snowden@nsa.gov

>WOUNDEDBIRD built a dossier on EVERY LAINCHAN USER via crashoverride.ml which housed IMAGES AND LOCATIONS OF USERS

Seriously though, it's an anonymous image board. What part of that don't you understand? Those that had their region and photograph listed on crashoverride.ml (now lainon.photos) offered that information voluntarily. It's offline at the moment, but it may have had 50 people at most. That is hardly "every user."

<crash_override> guidojoon, can I have a picture of you for https://lainon.photos

That is from #lainchan on their IRC channel. That user was derezzed on #arisuchan on Freenode so you don't have to worry about that happening here.

>Data is sent off via archive.zip files, which contain all of the posts in a given snapshot. applechan has removed theirs, but Arisuchan.jp still has theirs at Arisuchan.jp/archive.zip

That is the archive of applechan that they used to make the lainchan archive. There is nothing malicious in the archive.zip file. They link to it directly from the main page of the lainchan archive.

If anyone actually fell for this "conspiracy theory," please leave this site.

Who says we're "being ourselves" here?
Maybe you're just not in on the false profiling scheme.

The archive.zip here is updated to around August 2017 (If I parsed the unix timestamps right), not exactly up to date. Wouldn't it be easier to web scrape the board occasionally instead of getting these zips?

>crashoverride

I really don't know why people would voluntarily put their photos out there. I don't see how it's combined with archive.zip, it doesn't hold IP addresses or anything identifiable beyond what you see on the board yourself. The pool of people in the photos to machine learn something from is really small so how'd that benefit anyone I don't know.

You'll need to get more to get me paranoid.

It's thumbnails too!

So uh where are the hidden boards? I know they're kinda for fun and less real but I still think the goberment would want those. Also as everyone said before why wouldn't they just scrape the web?

Because archive is not of arisuchan. It is of the old applechan.

I have over 300 photos of irc users now.
I am not derezzed from #arisuchan?
lainon.photos is long gone and isn't coming back, but I still have an unmaintained list of lainon websites at https://rms.moe/lainons.html, crashoverride.ml is such an old domain of mine I dunno why op even mentioned it.
